Six Reasons Clients Come Back
Inspection Before Anything
No quote is raised without a documented look first. Findings go to the owner in writing, and no work begins without agreement.
On-Site Diagnostic Equipment
Pressure testing and timing machines are here in the workshop. Diagnostics are not sent out — results are read and reported directly.
Written Rate Reports
Every regulated movement comes back with a timing report. Numbers on paper, not a verbal assurance that it's running well.
No Unapproved Work
Scope is agreed in writing at intake. If something unexpected comes up during the job, we stop and discuss it rather than proceed.
Parts on Display
Replaced gaskets, crystals, and worn components are kept until you collect. You can see what came out and confirm what went back in.
Honest Turnaround Times
Timelines are stated at intake and updated proactively if anything changes. No vague "ready in a few weeks" when a date is possible.
In More Detail
What Each Benefit Means in Practice
Watchmaking Expertise
The work at Geartha is done by people whose background is specifically in horology — not general electronics or jewellery repair. That distinction matters when it comes to movement disassembly, lubricant selection, regulation, and gasket compatibility across different case designs.
- Experience with mechanical, automatic, and quartz calibres
- Familiarity with Swiss, Japanese, and vintage movements
- Case refinishing handled by a metalwork-trained technician
Proper Tooling
The right tools matter. Geartha operates a timing machine for regulation verification, calibrated pressure testing for water-resistance work, and an ultrasonic cleaner for movement parts. All of this is on-site, meaning no diagnostic step depends on an outside party's equipment or schedule.
- Timing machine regulation with printed rate data
- Calibrated pressure tester for gasket and seal work
- Ultrasonic cleaning of movement components
Owner Communication
Every interaction is meant to be clear and calm. Intake is documented. Findings are written out. Changes in scope trigger a conversation, not a surprise on the invoice. For larger staged jobs, checkpoints are agreed at the start so there are no long silences while work proceeds.
- Written intake receipt with scope description
- Staged checkpoints on case rebuild jobs
- Updates sent proactively if anything shifts
Stated Pricing
Service prices are listed. There are no consultation charges for an initial inspection. If additional work is found necessary during a job, it is discussed and agreed separately — it does not appear on the final invoice without prior sign-off.
- ฿3,800 — Water-resistance check & reseal
- ฿12,400 — Movement cleaning & regulation
- ฿31,000 — Case refinishing & rebuild
Measurable Results
Where a result can be measured, it is. Pressure test outcomes are recorded. Timing machine data is printed and included. Case refinish condition is photographed before and after. This produces a record that is useful for the owner and informative for any future service.
- Pressure test result recorded and documented
- Timing machine rate report with every movement service
- Before/after photos for case refinishing work

What Separates Us
Distinctive to Geartha
Rate Report as Standard
The timing machine printout comes with the watch when you collect. You can see the numbers — average daily rate, amplitude, beat error — rather than taking our word for it.
Pressure Test on Every Reseal
A water-resistance reseal that isn't followed by a pressure test is incomplete. We test everything before returning it. Result recorded on the service slip.
Staged Approval on Case Work
Case refinishing is broken into agreed checkpoints. You see and approve the condition at each stage — dent work, surface prep, finishing — before the next begins.
Reference Number From Intake
Each watch gets a reference number on arrival. The receipt matches the job record. Tracking your piece from intake to collection is straightforward.
